An action packed weekend of running

What a weekend of running!

I’m sure many of us kicked off the weekend watching Kipchoge smashing the sub 2 hour marathon barrier. Followed on Sunday by the Female marathon World Record being broken after 16 years by Brigid Kosgei!

Saturday then saw the start of our Couch 2 5k programme, expertly put together and organised by Coach Hatton. It’s great to see that so many of you have volunteered to help out with over the coming weeks.

Moving on to the afternoon we had 1 Ladies and 2 Mens teams at the first match of the Cross Country season at Wythenshawe Park – a great turnout.

Come Sunday morning Foxy’s team of volunteers were up bright and early to marshal the Manchester Half at the 1 mile point. We all had lots of fun watching those of you who were running you sail past making it look so easy. And special well done to our members taking on the distance for the first time.

We finished off the weekend with food and drinks at HOME before moving on to the village for a night cap.

All in all a busy, and successful weekend for MFR and the running world.
