Weekend success for MFR

Lots of racing last week and into the weekend, and some great successes. In Snowdonia, Lucy took part in her first ever marathon, and finished 3rd lady. Jane also competed in the half marathon. Closer to home, the tour of Tameside saw many of the club racing across the 4 days, with Orla completing 3 of the 4 days. Congratulations. The course was delivered by UK Athletics (the lovely Tess Ptonka) and helped Sarah Rickard, Rob Dixon (pictured left) and Daniel Taylor learn how to act as guide runners. The training included theory as well as some rather scary practice on the track at Sports City involving blindfolds...

The weather held for us and we had a gay old romp around the countryside taking in the beautiful scenery and observing the lasting legacy left by the industrial revolution! There was plenty to do with the early arrivals on Friday going out for a 5-10km run and kindly scouting out the terrain for us, with a few others going for a walk,...
