At Manchester Frontrunners we offer coaching to all our members through coached sessions, 121 coaching and advice through informal discussions. We currently have 5 qualified Coaches in running fitness (CIRF). These are Steve Hatton, James Moles, Thomas Blackburn, Nina Barthel and Tess Ptonka. Steve and James are currently studying for qualifications in Specialist Endurance Coaching. We also have numerous Leaders in running fitness who assist in coached sessions and act as buddies to other members. The coached sessions we offer are Tuesday Track, Monday Core plus summer hill training. We also have guest coaches deliver sessions from time to time such as GB athlete Jenny Meadows and UKA endurance lead Andi Drake.
Tuesday Track – lead by a CIRF and LIRF each week the session will consist of dynamic warm up, drills to improve technique, an interval type session to improve speed then some core strength work with cooldown/stretches to finish. The sessions are suitable for all running ability if you can run 5k and are always adaptable to individual need, We generally have 2 interval options depending on people’s training goals. Wednesday Core – In 2018 we started offering a weekly strength and conditioning class during the winter months (October – April). The session consists of plyometrics and core exercises designed to increase core and leg strength, therefore improving your running. This type of cross training is essential in preventing injuries. It takes place from 1930-2030, is set to 90s dance. Again, this session is suitable for all abilities.
